Sacramento Marriott Rancho Cordova

I recently stayed at this hotel and, unfortunately, it was a rather disappointing experience. The rooms were quite old and in need of refurbishment. The bathroom was particularly concerning as it was dirty, which is unacceptable for any hotel. To make matters worse, there was no water available during the night of our stay. It only came back in the morning, which caused a significant inconvenience. Overall, the room and its amenities were far below expectations, and I would not recommend staying here until improvements are made.

The only reason I cannot/would not rate this hotel higher and/or recommend (in the summer months, anyway) is because of the restrictions of the in-room thermostat/temperature setting. Seriously, a Marriott that does not allow you set the temperature where you want it? This Marriott has a hard stop at 68 degrees and the AC appears to be on a timer where it cycles on and off constantly for short periods of time (the same amount of time all the time) without ever staying on long enough to truly cool the room off. The room was clean but not sparkling, the staff was great and the lobby areas, etc are nicely done. Rooms are giant which was great. The waitress working the breakfast shift both days we were there provided spectacular service and the food (buffet) was edible. Bartender in same restaurant late afternoon/early evening not the best. Some cocktails has almost no alcohol and some tasted like pure firewater; none of them were good. Anyway-my advice to this joint is to charge me an extra twenty bucks a night and let me set my own room temp. I won't return because of the restricted thermostats and would not recommend it to anyone else.

Breakfast was the best. Roisa Semenov was so cheerful and such a great host as she served me breakfast. I will go back to this hotel, just to have breakfast with her. She smiled at me, asked me how my day was going, and really cared. And breakfast was great too! It was like my mom was there taking care of me. Thank you for such a great experience.

STAY AWAY!!!! I did not want to give them even one star, but Tripadvisor forces you to at least give one star to submit. They are installing "new SMART thermostats", made by a company called "telkonet". They have a new advanced motion sensor in them and WITH motion they only go down to 68. Both things are not able to be overridden by the hotel maintenance personnel. Maintenance was called and they said everyone has been complaining, but they cannot override this. You will get zero sleep, it gets hot during the night. Then they have also installed special locked boxes in the market by the front desk. If you want a candy bar or chips, you need to scan the QR code with your phone, on the particular container, fill out the form with your CC info, name, email, etc..then hear a loud unlock, and you take your selection, from that container only. It states they will email you a receipt, but the receipt only says "receipt from Marriott Rancho Cordova", and the dollar amount you paid, no mention of what that charge was for. How can you expense that receipt to your employer?? If you want something from the adjacent container, you then repeat those QR steps. Concierge lounge is nothing but water/cokes and a couple bags of chips- no bfast or evening food. What's next?? How about a QR code for the toilet in your room, a coin meter on the shower, a QR code for using the TV, and lights in the room??? Also zero welcome amenity for Ambassador members... Marriott-- You are letting your franchisees get away with way too much!!

Good value at a nice property

I truly enjoyed my experience at the hotel. It was very peaceful!
